Standalone Star Wars films in the works!

Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed in an interview with CNBC that they are planning on making standalone Star Wars films, with Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg working on scripts. Lawrence Kasdan is a Star Wars veteran, having written the screenplays for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (in addition to Raiders of the Lost Ark). Simon Kinberg produced X-Men: First Class, and wrote X-Men: The Last Stand and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
